Besides that, the easy strolls along the coastline as well the challenging walks through the volcanic landscapes make the Canaries a perfect fit for hikers. Some of the best hiking spots for your memorable getaway in the Canaries have been selected and discussed below:
Guatiz
Passing through the spectacular beauty of nature amidst Tinguaton and Los Valles, the 27.5-kilometre-long route from Agricultural Guatiza is only meant for the ardent hiking loves. The oval route features the famous Cactus Garden of Lanzarote, and mostly has a warm and dry weather. It is suggested that you carry the necessary sun protective clothing and plenty of water on this hiking. It is not recommended for the faint hearted.
Hence, action and adventure come to life in the Canary Islands. All you need to do is plan your trip, pack your items, wear your hiking boots, and get ready to explore every bit of nature in these stunning islands.

Los Ajaches
Located to the south west of Lanzarote, this volcanic island is filled with mesmerising flora and fauna, which is sure to capture your hearts. However, the short route to this island starting from Femes may possess several pedestrian tracks and pathways but it is a steep route. The faint hearted should not opt for hiking on this route. It is recommended that you wear proper hiking shoes, pack plenty of water, and of course, sun-protective accessories and cream.

Roque Nublo, Gran Canaria
The massive eruption about 4.5 million years ago transformed Gran Canaria to leave a lava landscape on the island’s surface. With the lava erosion over time, the dramatic outcrops such as the Roque Nublo remained. Standing at a height of 80 metres, 1,813m above sea level, this hiking spot was considered an age-old worshipping site by native islanders and is one of the largest free-standing rocks in the world. The mesmerising sights of the dams of Las Niñas, Chira and Soria are sure to gratify your senses.

Cueva de los Verdes
Created from the Monte Corona eruption about 3000 to 5000 years back, the breath-taking caves and volcanic tubes of Cueva de los Verdes are something that you would never want to miss! The caves have artificial lighting and as such, these are perfectly safe for all walkers. Exploring these caves on a rainy day with your family may offer you great pleasure and fun.

La Graciosa
The astonishing view of nature in this volcanic island is sure to make you believe that paradise exists. Located in the north of Lanzarote, the small dreamy island of La Graciosa boats a plethora of unique plants and animals, and some pristine beaches. The intensity of hikes around this island varies depending on the terrains and slopes. The recommended starting point for hiking is Caleta de Sebo. It is further suggested that instead of action-packed hiking, you go for relaxed strolls around this island.

Caldera Blanca
Recommended starting point: Our Lady of Sorrows Church
Despite being one of the highest volcanic peaks of central Lanzarote, the Caldera Blanca route tends to be an easily accessible route when started from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The flat pathways and combining tracks make this route pedestrian-friendly and thus, the Caldera Blanca is the perfect route that you can explore with your whole family.
