Greg’s Hut makes for an authentic home stay and offers glorious surroundings.

 

  • The Lookout, Rubha Hunish, Isle of Skye

A former coastguard watch station, the Lookout is a bothy which offers travels a place to rest while they enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Western Isles. A beautiful spot to watch the whales and dolphins, this place has an access to drinking water nearby, and you can easily fill your bottles with the help of the Bothy’s warden. From the right of the red phone booth, just past the Kilmaluag, this place has every traveller thrilled to enjoy the beauty of the place.

 

  • Warnscale Head, Haystacks, Lake District

One of the best views in Lake District, the Warnscale Head bothy is set upon a slope of the mountain. It overlooks the Buttermere and Crummock Water. You might need to bring your own stove and other requirements but it helps you sleep peacefully upon the raised bench that is comfortable enough. It is a tiny room that serves three to four individuals. If it gets full, head to the Dubs Hut that is a nearby hut.

 

  • Caddelie Bothy, Loch Etive, Argyll and Bute

The perfect bunkhouse on the banks of Loch Etive, Caddelie Both is one of the scenic places to enjoy the coy facilities including three rooms for sleeping, a warm fire, and a beautiful collection of whiskey bottles, a courtesy of the generous souls who have stayed here before. Fall asleep to the lush sound of the riverside next to the shore. The bothy’s grid reference is NN046370.

 

  • Penrhos Isaf, Dolgellau, Snowdonia National Park

A place no less than a fairytale, the Penrhos Isaf is a wonderfully constructed farmhouse that is nestled in the middle of the forest amongst the crumbling, moss-strewn remains of an old small holding. It has all the facilities including the wood-burning stove, and even has an outhouse with toilet – fancy! It can be reached by foot or found near the maps by Dolgellau. Visit this mesmerizing place to soak in the nature’s beauty, next time you visit the place.
