Organising a snowboarding holiday with your friends is so much fun. It is far more exciting than killing your time chatting in a pub or a brewery over countless pints of beer. But, planning a group snowboarding holiday with friends can be quite a task. It is very important to avoid the clutter while planning a group snowboarding trip.
Here’s a handy set of tips for you to plan a hassle-free a group snowboarding holiday with peers:
Set a Date
Above anything and everything else, it is really important to set a date. Further, it may well be the hardest thing to pin down. There’s no point floating potential dates in thin air. Use a Doodle planner to make things simpler. If everyone marks off the days they can’t do, then the available options would automatically present themselves. If the number of people isn’t huge, there won’t be much trouble.
Communication Holds the Key
Everybody within the group needs to be kept in the loop right from the start. It goes without saying that everybody should be on the same page. It is advisable to avoid email chains as it would be confusing if someone hits ‘Reply’ instead of ‘Reply All’. You can easily make a group on WhatsApp. You have the entire conversation history at your disposal if and when you forget something.
Ask Somebody to Take the Charge
If tickets are booked individually, it won’t do much good. Pick a person to handle the big stuff for everybody. Don’t go for someone who is a ‘natural leader’. You need to look beyond the usual faces. It is advisable to assign these tasks to someone who harbours good organisational skills. Shouldering extra burden might appear a bit frustrating at first, but this would certainly make your life simpler.
It All Depends on How Deep the Pocket is
Let the organiser do most of the money-handling stuff. Apps such as tilt allow you to make and manage group payments. It can also keep a track of who has paid how much. Also, chasing people for payment is not a good idea. Ask everybody to contribute beforehand. Don’t force everybody to contribute.
Go with The Majority
The bigger your group gets, the less likely it would get for everybody to agree. Be it food, accommodation, or saving more cash for the bar, differences would always be there. Therefore, it is advisable to narrow down the available options and put each and every choice to vote. It’d make sure that everybody gets heard.
Don’t Take More Luggage Than Required
If your flat mate is accompanying you on the trip, then it’d become simpler for you to pack your stuff. It is advisable to pack your stuff at least a few days before you’re scheduled to fly. If you think that an extra bag or two are required, it would be good to sort that out before the morning of the flight, as this will add extra costs at check in.
Search for Combo or Group Deals
Travel companies want groups that come looking for tempting deals. You can visit a few travel companies and compare all the alternatives. You shouldn’t be heavily-reliant on your organizer. The best thing you can do is to prepare a list of all the available deals and choose the best alternative out of the available ones.
It is Important to Know What’s Included and What’s Not
While booking flight tickets, it is advisable to ask a person to do in on everybody’s behalf, but for everything else, right from lift passes to food bills, it would be good if you can manage your own requirements.
It’s Always Good to Be Optimistic
Group outings would never go as planned for there would always be last minute additions and omissions. You can’t please everybody at the same time. So, just go with the flow and enjoy the trip.
