While travelling, your skin may get burnt or you may get dark circles due to improper sleep at night. All these things are pretty common when you're out of your comfort zone. Skin problems such as sunburn are more common when you're on a hiking or camping excursion. People like me who are very particular about their skin should not miss carrying some travel essentials to protect it from external elements. Here are 5 essentials without which I won't travel.

Anti Bac Hand Gel

An antibacterial hand gel is a must-have travel essential. You'll encounter various bacteria when you're outdoors and it becomes crucial to stay protected from illness to make the most of your trip. So, a hand gel with antibacterial properties will help kill germs in your hands and keeps you safe all day long. A bottle of hand sanitiser will cost you way less than the amount you would spend for your treatment if you fall sick.

Earplugs

You might think its 'not an important' item, but from me to you should not ignore earplugs. A few nights of improper sleep are enough to cause dark circles around your eyes. A pair of good earplugs assists in cancelling out noise that will help you fall asleep easily and sleep restfully for the whole night. A good night's sleep will also help relieve all your body aches, improve your health and energise you for the next adventurous day.

I would suggest you get an inexpensive but effective pair of earplugs like the foam ones.

Sudocream

I am a big fan of this antiseptic cream for its effectiveness. It is not only a rash cream, but also works on insect bites, minor burns, sunburns, and other minor skin problems. It immediately soothes pain and reduces the risk of infection.

Mosquito Repellent

Mosquito bites are not only itchy and irritating, but they are prone to infection in tropical countries, as it might cause malaria. I always prefer those creams, lotion, or spray that consists Picaridin or DEET as an active ingredient. Also, I would suggest you take a mosquito net if you’re camping in a forest.

Sunscreen and After-Sun Protection

For me, this combination is a magic duo. I have been guilty for not always using or reusing sun protection in the past, but now I'm much more careful and conscious about my skin. I always wear a sunscreen with SPF 50 on my face when travelling abroad and prefer applying SPF 30 sunscreen every day in the United Kingdom. If you're using sunscreen frequently in a right manner, then there is no requirement of an after-sun protection. But, if you still want to use it, you can apply Aloe Vera gel on your skin.

These are the 5 most important travel essentials that I would always carry with myself when travelling.
