How to make cycling friends on-line
Do you fancy taking up cycling or going a little further on your bike, but you can’t find someone to cycle with? Perhaps you’re new to an area and looking for like-minded cycling friends. Maybe you’d like to find out about new cycle routes in your area. Or you might like to chew the fat with cyclists about cycling clothing, bikes and routes. If so, check out the fest-growing social networking website for cyclists called CyclingBuddy.com
CyclingBuddy.com has only been going for a few months but already members have manually logged more than 150,000 cycling miles and shared more than 1,100 of their favourite cycling routes. CyclingBuddy has also attracted members from 14 different countries.
The website is a place for cyclists to meet and to become motivated to cycle more. The site includes routes, news, kit reviews, events and a members’ area. There are also written logs from cyclists detailing where they have cycled and their routes.
About Cycling Buddy
Following in the footsteps (so to speak!) of JoggingBuddy, CyclingBuddy.com is a free website that aims to get more people cycling and talking about cycling. No matter what kind of cycling you are into, whether it’s road cycling or mountain biking, the platform gives you information about all things cycling!
New for CyclingBuddy
Now the innovative website is opening its API to allow App developers to integrate with it. What this means is that App developers can make use of an existing community and a set of cycle routes to create Apps that can help cyclists to record their cycling progress and performance.
Tony Piedade, founder and CEO said: "CyclingBuddy is a great community of cyclists of all ages and abilities, all looking to find someone else to cycle with.
“There are a multitude of Apps out there that are extremely good at recording and monitoring performance. So we want to invite these App developers to integrate into CyclingBuddy.com.
“We think it will be a great partnership. We are really good at motivating people to cycle, while Apps are great at recording progress and performance once they have got out of the door. This means that everybody wins.”
