I remember the first time I tried fasted cardio. After chugging a quick cup of coffee, I headed out the door for a quick workout session. When I got home, I was sweaty and exhausted but also elated. I couldn’t believe that something that had seemed so difficult at first had ended up being so rewarding. Maybe you're wondering if there are any benefits to working out on an empty stomach. Yes, there are! Here are a few of them.
Burn fat more efficiently
If you're looking to burn fat, fasted cardio is a great option. When you exercise in a fasted state, your body is forced to use stored body fat for energy. This makes fasted cardio an especially effective fat-burning tool if you're trying to lose weight or get leaner.
Fasted cardio increases energy levels
One of the best things about fasted cardio is that it can give you a major energy boost. Since your body is using stored body fat for energy during a fasted workout, you'll have more energy than usual to power through your workout.
