Summer season is upon us and most of us can’t wait to get out in the sun. Summer lounging is the ideal way to soak in the bright rays of the sun. The perfect way to enjoy summer lounging is to enjoy with a refreshing meal and the cool gentle blowing wind. The easiest way to go for summer lounging is to pack a hammock, lounging accessories with refreshments and head out to your favourite destination. You need to have the ideal hammock that combines utility with comfort to bring this plan to reality. In this blog, we will tell you how to choose the ideal hammock for your summer lounging trip.
Material of Hammock
The material of the hammock tends to stick to your body. Of course you would like this material to be skin-friendly and comfortable. Choose the material according to the duration and place of use. The hammocks made for use in the yard of your home are made of cotton. This material is ideal for casual lounging but not good for camping due to its high absorbency and weight. For camping, choose hammocks made of ripstop nylon or polyester. These materials are lightweight and have low absorbency. This makes them ideal for carrying around on long-distance trips. The low absorbency also helps during the storm as the hammocks won’t get soaked in water.
Size of Hammock
Pick the size of the hammock depending on whether you are planning your trip alone or with someone. You can pick single or double size hammocks depending upon your requirement. Do not forget to check the weight capacity and the dimensions that can easily fit your body.
Attachment Points for Hammocks
A hammock stand is a useful tool for summer lounging with the hammock. The hammock stand will eliminate the need of finding the perfect spot for tying the hammock. You can attach your hammock on the stand on any place of your choice and enjoy the experience of lounging in the sun. Buy a sturdy and durable stand that can easily fit in and support your hammock.
Positioning the Hammock
It is more about how your body is positioned on the hammock rather than how the hammock itself is positioned. Different hammocks will hold your body weight differently and you need to be decisive about the comfortable positioning of your body before buying the hammock. If you prefer sitting than lying down, we recommend you to buy a rope chair instead of a hammock. The rope chair will keep you in a sitting position while holding your body close to it like a hammock. If you want your body to be cocooned by the hammock then buying the camping hammock would be perfect. If you want your hammock to feel just like your bed, then going for hammock with wood spreader bars that flatten out the hammock would be the ideal choice.
We have mentioned all the important points you must keep in mind before buying the hammock for your summer lounging trip. Apart from these, do not forget to enquire about essential hardware to tie the hammock on the stand. Some hammocks come with the hooks, rope, and straps but some won’t. If your hammock doesn’t come with the straps and hooks for attachment, then you can buy them separately.
