For an interesting and varied camping trip why not try a trip to the woods. No wood is the same, whether it be the animals you will encounter or the natural plant life they inhabit. There are plenty of places around England to explore. My wildlife camping memories have always been amazing, and I still continue to make more of them.

One of these trips was to Hampshire’s Holland Wood’s New Forest. Spread across 22 hectares and covered with around 600 pitches, this New Forest is covered with trees and gives you a scenic view of oaks and perfect for you to visit during the summer. The forest is huge and gives the option of solitude to help you connect with nature without interruption. The sanitary conditions of the place are amazing, and you can take a hot shower anytime you want. An added benefit is that it is pet friendly, so your little friends can experience what nature has to offer too.

What to do?

With large acres of land to walk and cycle on there is so much for you to discover. There are so many opportunities to take photo’s and I would advise taking as many as you can to look back on in years to come.

Whilst you are having fun don’t forget to relax a little. Near New Forest of the Holland Wood, there is a lovely town called Brockenhurst. This place has a variety of pubs, shops and cafes to keep you and your party entertained. You can go on and explore wildlife park, motor museum, and reptile centre to have fun and maybe improve your general knowledge if you feel like it.

Where to eat?

There is a Careys Manor hotel near New Forest offering authentic French food as its main cuisine. Another great place for eating is the Dynasty which offers great hospitality and delicious Indian food. If you would prefer classic “Fish and Chips” the Rainbow Fish Bar is for you. Each place is worth trying.

Holland Wood’s New Forest should definitely be on your bucket list. Its amazing campsite, nature, facilities and entertainment promise to give you an experience worth coming back for.
