Here are my favourite walks near Lake Windermere

Loughrigg Fell Walk

Loughrigg Walk is one of the most popular and desired walks, spanning approximately 3 miles. Why I recommend this fell is because it's not too challenging, making it accessible to people of all ages. As you walk the trail, the stunning views will unfold, showcasing the rolling hills and shimmering lakes below. With its moderate challenge and stunning views, Loughrigg Fell is ideal for all to immerse themselves in the beauty of this truly iconic landscape.

High Dam and Stott Park Heights Walk

Two of the most stunning destinations are High Dam and Stott Park Heights, nestled within the splendid landscape of the Lake District National Park in England. Stott Park Heights is known for its panoramic views and rugged terrain. It also tends to be quieter as it is on top of a hill. High Dam is a tranquil reservoir surrounded by lush woodlands, offering a peaceful retreat for walkers and nature enthusiasts.

Tarn Hows Walk

The Tarn Hows Walk promises an unforgettable adventure through the heart of the Lake District’s scenic wonders. This popular circular route spans approximately 1.9 miles (3 kilometres), weaving its way around the tranquil Tarn Hows. What makes this trail truly special is its accessibility, offering an enchanting view. From panoramic views to the peaceful ambience of the woodlands, every step of this walk will simply blow your mind!

Helm Crag Walk

The Helm Crag Walk also stands, undeniably, as one of the finest routes in the Lake District. It covers approximately 4 miles and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding fells and valleys. The main highlight of this route is the unique rock formation known as the “Lion and the Lamb”, which will surely captivate your attention.

Cathedral Quarry Walk

The Cathedral Quarry Walk covers approximately 2 miles. This captivating trail leads adventurers through an ancient limestone quarry with towering caverns and dramatic rock formations. The route offers a combination of natural beauty and historical sights. With its stunning surroundings and fascinating geological features, this walk is simply brilliant.
