Breaking in hiking boots start way too early even before you buy them. But the most important question is what is the need to do so? Nowadays when every brand has tried their hands on creative thinking, and each one of them try their ways to have an idea which has never ever been thought of, the question which pops up is “what is the need to break in hiking boots?”
The answer is that whatever is claimed about boots is not always quite true and also everyone’s feet are different. One particular boot which makes one person comfortable may make another person cranky.
Here are some of the tips which will make you comfortable in your boots in a shorter span of time:
- Know Your Feet: Before you start shopping for your hiking boots, it is extremely important that you know the accurate measurements of your feet. Ask yourself a few important questions like “Are your feet narrow or wide?” or “Are each of your feet different sizes?”
- Buy the Best kind of boots for you: The most important step towards buying boots is buying the right kind of boot which suits your feet. Also ask the shopkeeper that the boot they have shown you is actually present in the showroom or is it just for display purpose. You can take as much time as possible in choosing, buying and fitting purposes.
- Walk Around at Home: Walking in the boots in the shop for a few minutes is quite a different experience from wearing it and going for a hiking of 20 miles. It is therefore imperative to get the boots and try practising it in your home. Get used to it by wearing it and walking in it to nearby local places.
- Is there any aches or discomforts If you have tried your boots at your home and there is something which is troubling you, then you may want to identify the type of problem. Try identifying the problem and if it persists, then you may need to take some stern action. You can either return the boot altogether or try exchanging it with a more comfortable one.
- Wear them with your hiking socks: Do not forget to try your hiking boots with the hiking socks. The boots may feel great in the thin cotton socks, but thicker socks can change the whole scenario. You should avoid wearing multiple socks and wear one pair of thick one.
- Get around the places: If you have rectified all other loopholes of your boots and now you are all ready to scale up, then you might be slightly wrong over here. You should stick close to your home and try the first time of hiking somewhere close to your place. This is because in case any awry situation happens, then you would be having all the available medical facilities.
- It's Time! Go for Hiking Now: Now that you have learnt all the different hacks of boots, it’s time to open the gates of your home and venture out.
It is an inevitable fact that if you have given enough time to buy your hiking boots, then you wouldn’t be facing much difficulty while going for the hiking. You have already passed the dreaded process and reached to an advanced level.
