I can't believe we're already on Day 3 of our Coast to Coast walk! The time is flying by, but we're having an incredible time. Today was tough, but it was so worth it because of the amazing views. After a good night's sleep in the Borrowdale hostel, we woke up early and hit the trail. Our goal for the day was to make it from Borrowdale to Patterdale, a distance of about 16 miles.

Today's walk was a little shorter than the previous days, but it was still tough. We had to cross several rivers, and the terrain was quite hilly. But the views were stunning, as always. The route today took me through the stunning Borrowdale valley. Here’s how my day went.

I woke early and packed up my things before setting off into the morning mist. The first part of the walk took me along the banks of Derwentwater, where I stopped to take in the view and have a quick snack. We then started to walk beside Greenup Gill towards a cloud-covered Greenup Edge. The walk was relatively flat, but soon enough, we started climbing uphill towards Grisedale Hause.

The going was slow but steady, and we took plenty of breaks to catch our breath and take in the views. After a few hours of walking, we reached Grisedale Hause. From there, we had a stunning view down into the valley below. We could see Grasmere Lake far below us, surrounded by hills and mountains.

The lake was still partially frozen over and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. We could see people dotting the landscape, making their way up or down various trails. It was tempting to just sit and rest here for a while, but we had to keep moving if we wanted to make it to Patterdale before dark.

The last leg of our journey took us past Grisedale Tarn. By this point, we were tired, but it was nice to have such a beautiful view to motivate us onwards. We could see Patterdale in the distance, and we knew that our cosy hostel was waiting for us there! As of now, we were ready for a hot shower and a warm meal.

We're staying in the Patterdale hostel tonight, and they were kind enough to put on a pot of soup for us when we arrived. We're all exhausted, but it's been another great day on the Coast to Coast Walk. I’m now at the end of my Coast to Coast walk, and I can honestly say it’s been an incredible experience.

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday was sunny and bright, but today brought us rain and cold temperatures. Nevertheless, we had a great time and are excited about what tomorrow has in store.
