When it comes to spending a holiday outdoors, according to me nothing could be better than camping. Now-a-days, people are becoming aware of the benefits of staying in the lap of nature. So, if you are someone who has never gone on a camping holiday before then I will guide you: keep on scrolling and reading.
There are only five factors which you need to take into consideration for a safe and enjoyable camping. Following these points, you are able to prepare yourself better to handle different situations that you may have to face during the trip.
Unlike, other ways of spending holidays camping needs much more planning and execution, especially if you are beginner. You need to research about the camping area thoroughly before leaving. You need to gather the information about how to reach that particular area where you are going to set up your tent. What are the options available to you to call the authorities, in case anything goes wrong? I advise you to inform someone who is not going with you on the trip about your whereabouts as it is not known what challenges you may face.
I have seen many people who go on camping trips for the first time try to pack everything in their bag as they don’t have proper guidance about the essential things to carry while camping. But, I suggest you to carry fewer items, so, that you’ll be more comfortable. You can carry a cooking set, tent, stove, sleeping bag, map or GPS device, trekking shoes, eatables, water bottle, and a lantern or a head torch for night.
You need to know the contact information of nearby hospitals from where you can seek help when required. Be advised, to carry a first aid box as you are going to stay outdoors. With the help of a first aid kit, you can treat the minor injuries by yourself until you get the real help from doctors.
As you are a beginner, I suggest you to choose a simple trail initially because starting with a hard trail can be very difficult and challenging for you. Still, if you want to attempt hard trails, take someone who has done camping before. Improvement is the key to successful camping experience. You can slowly enhance your ability to hike on hard trails.
I never camp into the woods as I feel unsafe there. You are also advised to set your tent outside the forests as it will not disturb the ecosystem. Forests are the habitat of many wild animals and there are high chances of getting attacked by wild animals. Also, you’ll be isolated from native people.
I believe that everyone once in their life must try camping for an amazing holiday experience. While going for outdoor camping, you should be cautious about your safety as well as as being cautious and courteous of the nature around you.
